GeoShare - Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the GeoShare Android app ("the app"), published on Google Play by:

1. The app and its license

GeoShare is free and open-source software, licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later (GPL-3.0-or-later). The GPL governs what you may do with the software itself - including using, studying, modifying, and redistributing it - and nothing in these terms restricts the rights the GPL grants you.

These terms apply to the app as distributed through Google Play and to the optional paid features described below.

2. Pro features

The app is free to download and use. Two optional features, Automation and Custom Web Maps ("Pro features"), can be unlocked through an in-app purchase, either as:

• a one-time purchase, which unlocks the Pro features permanently, or
• a monthly subscription, which unlocks the Pro features for as long as the subscription is active. If the subscription ends or is cancelled, the Pro features are deactivated.

3. Payments, cancellation, and refunds

All purchases, subscription management, and cancellations are handled by Google Play and are subject to Google Play's terms of service and refund policy. This includes Google Play's standard refund window after purchase. To cancel a subscription, use the subscription settings in Google Play.

4. No accounts, no user content

The app does not require an account and does not host user-generated content.

5. Not designed for children

The app is not designed for or directed at children.

6. No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, as stated in sections 15 and 16 of the GPL. In particular, we do not guarantee that the app is free of errors or that geographic locations, coordinates, or links displayed, converted, or shared by the app are accurate. Do not rely on the app in situations where an incorrect location could cause harm.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damages caused by intent or gross negligence, and for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health. Liability for simple negligence is excluded, except for the breach of essential contractual obligations, in which case liability is limited to foreseeable damages typical for this kind of app.

Your statutory rights as a consumer, including statutory warranty rights within the European Union, remain unaffected by these terms.

8. Changes to the app and these terms

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app or the Pro features at any time. We may also update these terms; the current version is always available at https://www.geoshare-app.net/terms. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer in the EU, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.
