GeoShare - Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the GeoShare Android app ("the app"), published on Google Play by:

It describes how we process information related to identified or identifiable individuals ("Personal Data") and anonymous information ("Non-Personal Data").

Information Collection

We do not collect, retain, or share any Personal or Non-Personal Data. The app stores some data locally on your device, but this data never leaves the device and we have no access to it (see "Data Storage and Security" below).

Google, however, collects data in connection with the app in two cases:

Google Play statistics. When the app is installed from Google Play, Google Play statistics provide Non-Personal Data including:

• Device model
• Software versions
• Country
• Language
• Network carrier

Google Play Billing. Optional Pro features can be unlocked through an in-app purchase (one-time purchase or monthly subscription), as described in our terms of service at https://www.geoshare-app.net/terms. All payments are processed by Google Play; we do not receive or store your payment details. To verify your purchase or subscription status, the app communicates with Google Play Billing on your device; the entitlement status is stored locally on your device only.

In both cases, the data collected by Google is handled according to Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Data Storage and Security

The app stores the following Non-Personal Data locally on your device:

• Logs of the map links that you shared with the app or entered in the app.
• Your app settings.
• The purchase or subscription status of the Pro features.

This data:

• Remains solely on your device.
• Is never transmitted over the internet.
• Is not backed up to cloud storage.
• Is accessible only through physical access to the device through Android debugging.
• Can be deleted by you at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.

Data Transfer

When you choose to connect to a map service (such as Google Maps or Apple Maps) to process a map link, the app makes a network connection from your device to the map service. The Non-Personal Data collected by the map service when this network connection is made is stored according to the privacy policy of the map service.

Children's Privacy

The app is not designed for or directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children or market to them.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect any Personal Data through the app, there is no data held by us that could be accessed, corrected, or deleted.

If you are in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For data processed by Google (Google Play statistics and Google Play Billing), Google is the data controller; please refer to Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. For data processed by a map service you connect to, the operator of that map service is the data controller; please refer to its privacy policy.

We may update this privacy policy at any time; the current version is always available at https://www.geoshare-app.net/privacy. We recommend reviewing this privacy policy periodically.
